German brand prepares an investment of 40 billion euros
Mercedes-Benz revealed the various stages it has planned to become a brand of exclusively electric vehicles until the end of this decade “where market conditions so permit” and from 2025 onwards it will no longer create new platforms for vehicles with combustion engines.
O The path towards zero emission vehicles already underway includes the offer of electric vehicles (BEV – Battery Electric Vehicle) in all segments until 2022 and the plan continues with an investment between that year and 2030 of 40 billion euros in BEV .

For 2025 another milestone is dated and “all new architectures are intended for electric vehicles only” giving its customers the option for “an all-electric alternative of each model series”.
The new architectures to be launched in 2025 will be three: the MB.EA for all medium and large passenger cars; the AMG.EA dedicated to electric sports vehicles for Mercedes-AMG customers; and VAN.EA for electric light commercial vehicles.
The preparation of the global network for the production of exclusively electric vehicles takes into account “the pace of supply adjusted to market demand ” and, in 2022, a total of 8 Mercedes-Benz electric models will be produced in 7 locations on 3 continents”, with the passenger car production and battery assembly plants managed by Mercedes-Benz AG complying with carbon neutrality that same year.
Currently, Mercedes-Benz is also developing the Vision EQXX, which is an electric vehicle with a range of more than 1,000 kilometers and with “ the goal of achieving a single-digit kWh consumption for every 100 kilometers traveled at normal road speeds”. The world premiere is also scheduled for 2022.
