HPE Discover 2021

HPE’s GreenLake platform innovates with a few clicks, intelligently configurable, automatically optimized cloud services, a non-trusting architecture that reaches the edge network, and silicon that can be turned on on demand. At the manufacturer’s annual conference, it also unveiled a new catalog of cloud services tailored for 5G, AI, HPC and other critical workloads. On the HPE GreenLake platform, organizations can transform, upgrade, and migrate their workloads from a local, in-house, or collocation partner data center to a cloud-based operating model. from through the clouds to the perimeter network. This allows them to manage their infrastructure in a unified, intelligent and automated way, with more agility to get more out of their data, no matter where it is located in a hybrid and multi-cloud environment. “They need to move to a cloud model in all environments to compete, which companies have now recognized,” HPE President and CEO Antonio Neri said at the company’s annual conference held as an online event in late June. – With developments ranging from silicon to software to security and workloads, we are once again extending the reach of our GreenLake platform to help organizations transform digitally faster and achieve better business results.

When GreenLake announced its cloud platform four years ago, HPE was the first to offer cloud services to for servers, storage, networks, and workload optimization that have made the cloud as-a-service model available in the local data center infrastructure as well. The platform is now used by more than 1,200 enterprise customers and sold by more than nine hundred partners worldwide. In the last fiscal quarter, recurring revenue from GreenLake services grew 30 percent year-over-year and order intake 41 percent, HPE said.

The agility and ease of use of the public cloud with the strengths of the local environment – the full range with control and foresight, compliance – preferably combining, similar solutions have now been added to the palette of all leading hardware vendors and are surrounded by the rapidly growing interest of companies. IDC predicts that by 2024, organizations will already be using half of the data center infrastructure in an as-a-service model, i.e., subscribing instead of classic purchasing, even with cost-proportionate billing. In any case, HPE is working to make its full portfolio available on the GreenLake platform by 2022, as previously promised.

GreenLake Lighthouse and Aurora

With HPE GreenLake Lighthouse, users can build intelligent operations, run and manage solutions optimized for different workloads easily and seamlessly. Companies can access the Lighthouse infrastructure through the HPE GreenLake Central interface, where they can deploy new services in minutes on demand – in their data centers and permissions – with a few clicks, so they don’t have to wait for the order to run through and configure services. The secure, cloud-based Lighthouse automatically optimizes cloud services for different workloads with HPE Ezmeral software. For example, you set up IT resources to achieve maximum performance, lowest cost, or a balance of the two, depending on what business priorities the user has set. Under the name Project Aurora, HPE is developing a zero-trust architecture for its GreenLake platform, making it easier to protect an increasingly complex task from the data center to the cloud to the peripheral network. Aurora will be built into all components of GreenLake to automatically and continuously monitor and certify the integrity of hardware, framework, operating systems, platforms and workloads, including the integrity of security workloads. With Aurora’s capabilities, it will detect the emergence of advanced threats in seconds, from silicon to cloud, which still takes companies an average of 28 days today, the manufacturer said. With fast-response Aurora, organizations will be able to avoid or minimize the damage caused by such attacks, such as data leaks, unauthorized encryption, and intellectual property damage.

Combining Aurora with open source technologies such as SPIFFE and SPIRE, DevOps, and SecDevOps engineering teams can assign workloads with identifiers rooted in continuously monitored hardware. The non-trust architecture will be the first to appear in the Lighthouse infrastructure, followed by additional GreenLake cloud services with HPE Ezmeral software later this year.

Processor core click

The HPE Compute Cloud Console, an integrated cloud-based management service that also enables companies to automate the management of computing tasks in their entire IT environment, was introduced at the Discover 2021 conference. Built on the GreenLake platform, the console brings the simplicity of an as-a-service model to infrastructure management, no matter where workloads run. By automating the traditionally manual tasks of assignment and lifecycle management, the Compute Cloud Console speeds up service to business needs while also preventing inconsistencies due to human error, the manufacturer said. The new console relies on the same proven, secure and artificial intelligence technology that underpins Aruba Central and the recently announced Data Services Cloud Console. The former manages more than one million network devices on more than one hundred thousand companies, and the latter provides a software-based solution for storage in the cloud. The Compute Cloud Console is currently available in the United States on an invitation basis, but HPE will be available in other regions later this year.

HPE has expanded its catalog of cloud services on the GreenLake platform. New cloud services are available to serve business-critical workloads that are vertically optimized by the manufacturer to meet the specific needs of the healthcare, financial and telecommunications sectors, data and risk analysis, high-performance processing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI), among others.

– When running industry-specific, business-critical workloads, companies should not be expected to choose between the benefits of the cloud or the ability to have complete control over security, data and applications stored in a local data center, said Keith White, vice president, HPE . – Whether they operate secure payment services or provide quality patient care, companies need both performance and resilience. With our workload-specific solutions, we therefore bring the cloud experience to hybrid environments, but without the costs, risks and complexity of a public cloud.

Silicon on Demand, HPE Presents New Consumer-Based Pricing Model at Conference , in which companies can scale and optimize the capacity they use, even at the level of processor cores and non – volatile memory. Companies using Opticon’s Silicon on-Demand technology, developed in conjunction with Intel, can forget about ordering and installing a processor, HPE said, because they can immediately activate additional capacity with one click, so they always pay for as many resources as they actually use.
