There are 830 hp of power debited by the new creation of Maranello
Ferrari launched the new 296 GTB marking a new era in Maranello when the present car has been increasingly marked by electrification. This mid-engined berlinetta debuts a 6-cylinder block in a road car from the Italian brand that is a plug-in hybrid with 830 hp.
The Ferrari 296 GTB (combined) in the proper name the 2,992 cc with the number of cylinders adding the acronym Grand Turismo Berlinetta) debuts a new V6 turbo engine with 120º architecture of the Italian brand that delivers 663 hp of power, giving it the record ratio for a production car of 221 hp /l.
The kinematic chain combines the internal combustion engine with the 8-speed F1 DCT transmission and a 122 kW (167hp) electric motor. The high-voltage battery with a capacity of 7.45 kWh guarantees the new 296 GTB a range of 25 km in exclusively electric mode up to a speed of 135 km/h.
With 830 hp of combined power and 740 Nm of maximum torque, the first Ferrari plug-in (PHEV) rear-wheel drive applies Formula 1 technology not only in the combination of combustion and electric engines, but also in the application of the kinetic energy recovery MGU-K. PUB
In the aerodynamic field, the Ferrari 296 GTB innovates with an integrated active spoiler on the rear bumper that (instead of being a drag reduction system as in other models) generates aerodynamic pressure in the order of 100 kg, which can reach 360 kg at 250 km/h with the Assetto Fiorano pack.
The driving dynamics of a car with a wheelbase of 2600 mm and a dry weight of 1,470 kg is not only supported by the new reg braking system. brake-by-wire enerative and the newest ‘ABS evo’ traction control and a tire grip tester in Slide Slip Control.
The Ferrari 296 GTB surpasses the 330 km/h maximum speed by accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, and from 0 to 100 km7h in 7.3 seconds.
