With the iMac 24, Apple turned to a certain retro look that is supposed to be reminiscent of the first iMac G3 from 1998. If you believe the statements of Youtubers Jon Prosser, who was mostly right with his leaks in the past few months, the manufacturer is also following this approach with the next Macbooks: They will be colorful.
Leaker: The next Macbook Air will be as colorful as the iMac 24
Prosser, who, among other things, correctly predicted the new iMacs, now claims to have learned from a reliable source that Apple is working on new Macbooks that should be colorful, similar to the all-in-one computers. The source recently saw a blue Macbook Air that allegedly could be equipped with the latest generation of chips. It is probably the big brother or successor of the M1 chip. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, the processor for the new Air with the code name “Staten” has the same number of cores as the M1 chip, but is supposed to be faster. Among other things, in contrast to the M1, the number of graphics cores is increased from seven or eight to nine or ten.

How the upcoming Air should look like is shown by the rendered images commissioned by Prosser: It will have a slim design that comes along without the classic beveled edge of the Macbook Air. Instead, the next Macbook should have a rather flat-edged housing that is similar to the iPad Pro. Allegedly it has two USB-C ports with USB-4, one on each side.
Other design changes are white bezels around the display like on the iMac 24 and a newly designed keyboard, which should also be white . One of the rendered images shows seven different color options, similar to the new iMac. Prosser thinks that the colors were similar to the colors of the feet of the iMacs, but not the stronger colors on the back.

New Macbook Air possibly with Magsafe adapter
Prosser did not offer any further details, but reported the Bloomberg Report He told Mark Gurman in January that Apple was planning a major redesign for its Macbook Air. According to Gurman’s information, at least one high-end version of the Air will be thinner and more compact and will come back with the Magsafe magnetic charging solution and other connections that was discontinued in 2016. The model is divided between the cheaper Macbook Air and the Pro models.
The renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who gets his information from supplier circles, also assumes that a new Macbook Air with mini LED display should appear. This screen technology was introduced by Apple with the new iPad Pro (2021). Gurman as well as Kuo and Prosser assume that the new Air could appear in the second half of 2021 at the earliest. It is also possible, however, that Apple could not introduce the new generation until 2022, Macrumors sums up.
