Lamborghini will all be electrified in 2024 before 100% electric arrives

Sant’Agata Bolognese brand reveals environmental road map until the end of the decade

Lamborghini announced the brand’s decarbonization strategy and, in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the intersection of sustainability with the tradition of high performance cars it will result in the first fully electric model with the bull as its emblem.

If the bull is the symbol of Lamborghini, also the road map of decarbonization it comes under your umbrella. “Direzione Cor Tauri” (“Towards the heart of the bull”) is the designation of this strategy announced in three phases that make up a holistic approach to environmental sustainability.

The combustion engine, hybrid and all electric models are different phases of the same path, which, as stressed by the brand’s president and CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, will not only include the largest investment ever, but will remain true to performance whatever the engine.

In more detail, Lamborghini explains that the first of the three phases of the road map «Direzione Co r Tauri »keeps the“ combustion engine celebration ”at the center until 2022 with the best-selling Urus super SUV at its center.

Without forgetting the Limited edition Lamborghini Sián that has already launched its brand electrification, Sant’Agata Bolognese (whose facilities have been carbon neutral since 2015) will produce two more V12 models with combustion engine development that pay “homage” to tradition.

The second stage of this road map will, until 2024, mark the transition hybrid brand. Lamborghini will not only launch its first hybrid production model in 2023, but its entire range will be electrified the following year.

“The brand’s internal objective for this phase is to reduce CO2 emissions by 50% by mid-2025” , informs Lamborghini, highlighting the realization of “a unprecedented investment: the four-year allocation of more than 1.5 billion euros. ”
