Buda.com, one of the largest exchanges in Colombia and Latin America, will launch an index of the volume of transactions of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies of its platform.
The Buda index will make comparisons between the cryptocurrency market and the Colombian stock market. This will allow dimensioning its positioning in the traditional financial system and the adoption of bitcoin and crypto assets among Colombians.
Forbes reported that the index will take as reference the monthly volume of your cryptocurrency transactions to compare with the local stock market. This could make it easier for businesses, investors and banks to make financial decisions about digital assets, the company said. The measurement of this index will be presented the second week of each month.
Cryptocurrencies are positioned in the Colombian market
Buda shared that the volume of cryptocurrency transaction this year on his platform has grown, from USD 43.8 billion in January, to USD 47.758 million in April.
This suggests that, if the volume of operations with cryptocurrencies in Buda.com will be listed on the Colombian Stock Exchange, would be positioned among the 10 most traded assets so far this year . Even above companies such as Grupo Nutresa, Grupo Argos, Grupo Éxito, Davivienda and Banco de Bogotá, and very close to Grupo Sura and Grupo Aval, the two largest financial conglomerates in Colombia.
“Cryptocurrencies are not the future, they are the present. Today, large banks in the world that market or offer investment funds with crypto assets, various businesses accept them as a form of payment, and more and more people see them as a form of investment, ”says Alejandro Beltrán, Buda’s country manager.
The volume of transactions reached by Buda would be the result of the implementation of cryptocurrency adoption tools for Colombians.
