Hong Kong justice secretary due in Beijing amid protests on Wednesday

Hong Kong’s Teresa Cheng, secretary for justice, will travel to Beijing on Wednesday, the local government said, as demonstrations in the Eastern financial center versus an extradition expense she had supported revealed no sign of reducing.

The extradition bill would have enabled individuals to be sent to mainland China for the test in courts controlled by the Communist Event, sparking anxieties over Hong Kong’s much-cherished rule of legislation.

Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam has stated the controversial bill “is dead,” yet protesters claim absolutely nothing brief of a full withdrawal will do and have required officials, including Lam as well as Cheng, to step down.
