Griezmann had revealed in May that he would be leaving Atletico Madrid.
Spanish giants FC Barcelona say they have paid EUR120 million Euros to protect the signing of French striker Antoine Griezmann.
“I would certainly like to say thanks to all of you for the love you have shown me during these five years,” Griezmann stated in a video launched on the club’s Twitter page.
He was scouted by Basque club Real Sociedad at the age of 14.
The French forward and Atletico finished as runners up in Champions League in 2016 as well as was the team’s top-scoring player. He was one of 3 finalists for the Ballon d’Or in 2016.
The 28-year-old, a World Cup winner with France last summer season, has signed an agreement that will run until 2024, the Catalan club said.
He was born in 1991 in Mâcon, France, however, has spent his profession in Spain.
The buyout stipulation for the Frenchman, who rejected a relocate to FC Barcelona in 2018, has been evaluated EUR800 million.
