Ali Wong and Randall Park’sAlways Be My Perhapshas lots of invaluable moments and comedic gold, but perhaps its most significant gem of them all is found in Keanu Reeves.
” I still can’t think he did it,” Wong informs Jimmy Kimmel about signing on for a cameo in the Netflix rom-com. “And we didn’t know if he was going to show up to the best.”
The Hollywood pillar depicts an eccentric, increased variation of himself on screen opposite Sasha (Wong) as her high, dark, and good-looking rebound love interest. Reeves is understood for his more severe side– from his renowned action function as John Wick to “Sad Keanu” memes– so his cameo in the film is a funny departure that has quickly intensified to viral status (see Twitter page “keanu reeves walking to music”).
Still incredulous that Reeves even consented to the movie in the very first location, Wong explains that she was both happily surprised and anxious when he rolled up to the red carpet for its debut event.
” He hadn’t seen any of the other scenes in the movie ’cause he shot with us for four days– he just shot [his] scenes– and he had not seen any video of the motion picture, so we didn’t understand how he was gon na respond,” states Wong. “He occurred to be sitting best behind me during the film and the entire time I could hear him go ‘ha-ha-ha’,” simulating what sounds like a required, erratic tummy laugh for an excellent five seconds.
” That sounds extremely disingenuous, however if you spend time with Keanu, that’s his laugh,” clarifies Wong.
