ATC hears May 12, 2007 mayhem cases
KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday resumed hearing of more than 10 cases referring to the May 12, 2007 mayhem.
All the implicated chosen in the cases appeared in the court.
The Investigation Officer (IO), at the start of the hearing, pleaded the court to approve him time to submit challan in the cases.
The ATC judge hearing the case, authorizing the IO’s demand purchased him to provide the challan of the cases in next hearing and adjourned the procedures till June 26.
In September last, the Sindh High Court (SHC) had actually purchased resuming the cases relating to the May 12, 2007 mayhem.
The decision began a plea to resume the 65 cases which had actually been stated A Class (procedures in the event stopped with the approval of the court).
On May 12, 2007, a minimum of 50 individuals were eliminated and over 100 injured in attacks on rallies of various political celebrations and the legal fraternity, who had actually tried to get the then-deposed chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry at the Karachi airport ahead of a legal representatives’ event.
