If you head to Brooklyn at some point soon, you’ll wish to make your method to the corner of Fulton Street and St. James Place in Clinton Hill to see and stand on a piece of hip-hop history. On Monday (June 10), this location received a brand-new name that comes from a rap artist who has actually become one of the genre’s legends, and who matured close-by: The Infamous B.I.G.
The devotion event took place under the cloudy skies and pelting rain of Brooklyn where Lil’ Kim, Lil Cease, the rap artist’s mother, and numerous fans collected with New York City Council member Laurie Cumbo for the official reveal. Lil’ Kim apparently spoke at the event. In a video posted on Twitter by BET, the official brand-new street sign can be seen hanging from a streetlight. The timing of the main unveiling couldn’t be any much better. The rap artist’s 47 th birthday would have been on May 21.
The renaming of the street has been a long time coming. A petition for it was authorized by the Brooklyn Neighborhood Board and Mayor Expense De Blasio in November. Christopher “Notorious B.I.G” Wallace Method officially now runs between Fulton Street and Gates Opportunity.
