Los Angeles becomes a much smaller city with celebrity moms running in the same social group.
“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards got to talking about the shocking college admissions scandal involving her friend Lori Loughlin while appearing on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” on Tuesday night.
“We know a lot of people in that circle and it was really shocking today,” she said, adding that her daughter Sophia is friends with the daughters of accused parents.
Coincidentally, the “RHOBH” episode that aired on Bravo just two hours earlier revolved around the Richards family dropping Sophia off at college at The George Washington University.
“They’re really great people,” the reality star added of Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli. “I’m really so confused by all of this, everyone’s talking about it today in our world [and] in our circle but until today we had never heard this ever existed.”
On Wednesday Loughlin was taken into custody. She and Giannulli are charged with paying $500,000 to get their two daughters into the University of Southern California as part of the school’s crew team — even though neither is a rower.
Also entangled in the scheme is actress Felicity Huffman, who was taken into custody on Tuesday and released on $250,000 bond.
“Maybe I’m naive, I never knew that existed,” Richards said of the scandal.
