BEIJING, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) — China’s Chang’e-4 probe took panoramic shots on the lunar floor after it successfully made the first ever relaxed-landing on the a ways aspect of the moon.

The China Nationwide House Administration (CNSA) Friday launched the 360-degree panoramic shots taken by a camera installed on the tip of the lander.

The shots were despatched abet thru the relay satellite Queqiao, which used to be operating around the second Lagrangian point of the earth-moon arrangement, about 455,000 km from the earth, the attach it goes to contemplate every the earth and the moon’s a ways aspect.

Scientists comprise made a preliminary prognosis on the terrains and landform surrounding the probe in response to the panoramic shots.

Chang’e-4 probe touched down on the Von Karman Crater in the South Pole-Aitken Basin in the morning of Jan. 3, and the lunar rover Yutu-2 drove onto the lunar floor leisurely that night.

Then the rover took a “nap” as the solar radiation raised the temperature on the lunar floor to over 100 degrees centigrade. It restarted to work on Thursday.

The lander, the rover and the relay satellite are in correct situation, said CNSA.
